Major Russian Strikes Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while local people in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in providing protection systems and enforcing restrictions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city endured heavy assaults during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were injured.

The assaults succeed evenings of air raids in the area, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

The whole nation is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
