Automobiles in German City Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities stated they were notified by a individual who noticed a vehicle in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly 50 automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The substance had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations show the fluid was probably blood from a person.

"Currently there is no clue as to its source; investigators are currently not informed of any harm in connection with the incident," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the public for tips.

A high-ranking political figure said the vandalism left him stunned and required to be solved promptly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on online, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a gunman aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
